Local Egg Farmers Encourage Coloradans to "Fuel Their Fun" During National Egg Month

Friday, May 1, 2015

CEP mascot, Eggbert, fuels his fun with local bike riders.

With all of the delicious food found at barbeques and pool parties, it’s easy to let healthy eating fall by the wayside in the warmer months. May is National Egg Month, and there is a lot to celebrate about the nutrition, versatility and flavor eggs bring to the picnic table. Whether you’re planning to scale a 14er, enjoy a family bike ride or spend the day by the pool, the Colorado Egg Producers (CEP) Association encourages Coloradans to “fuel your fun” with eggs this spring and summer.

Fun tips for kids in the kitchen!

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

With the school year winding down and summer around the corner, now is a great time for your family to make memories that will last a lifetime. So, why not have some family fun while making nutritious food choices? We have some great ways to get your kids in the kitchen, making eggcellent and nutritious meals!

Before starting, make sure kids wash their hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. Read through the directions and assemble all the ingredients and utensils that they will need.

Once you’re ready to cook, kids should keep these three keys in mind:
1. Keep all perishable foods, such as eggs, in the refrigerator when you’re not cooking or eating them.
2. Ask an adult to remove hot pans from the stove, oven or microwave. Always keep
potholders handy.
3. Be sure to clean up after you have finished. Promptly refrigerate any leftovers.

Colorado egg farmers hopped in to help the hungry this Easter!

Monday, April 28, 2014

Colorado egg farmers hopped in to help bring the Easter Bunny to FlatIron Crossing mall this year and for a seventh year donated eggs to food banks statewide to help those in need.

From March 28th to April 19th, families enjoyed a festive and “egg-ucational” experience at FlatIron Crossing. Children were able to visit and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and the Colorado Egg Producers (CEP) Association donated one egg to Community Food Share serving Boulder and Broomfield counties for picture taken. Visitors were also able to talk with a CEP “Eggs-pert” each weekend. The eggs-pert answered questions about eggs and provided new recipes as well as Easter and egg decorating tips.
