CEP's new mascot and Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia
Colorado Egg Producers (CEP) Association was a proud sponsor of this year’s 3rd annual Pedal The Plains bicycle tour, which took place September 19th to 21st through the Eastern Colorado towns of Wiggins, Ft. Morgan and Sterling.
“As Colorado egg farmers, we are committed to the local communities where we live, work and play,” said David Collie, CEP representative. “It was truly an honor for CEP to be a part of the 2014 Pedal The Plains event.”
Each day of the bicycle tour riders enjoyed a hearty, healthy egg breakfast designed to fuel the day’s ride, courtesy of Colorado egg farmers. CEP staffed aid stations for all three days where riders could stop for an egg-cellent energy boost with eggs on a stick and green chili egg bites. On Saturday evening, participants and community members alike enjoyed the Family Fun Ride in Sterling, complete with a CEP sponsored egg race and CEP child friendly tattoo station.
CEP’s new mascot also made its big debut at Pedal The Plains. The CEP team, including the new mascot, made sure that no one left the ride without knowing about the power of eggs. CEP temporary tattoos, shirts, bookmarks and coupons helped to spread the good egg message. The mascot made new friends and fans at every stop along the way and even met Colorado’s Lieutenant Governor Joe Garcia.
